We support UPK as a mixed delivery system that includes transitional kindergarten (TK), California State Preschool Program (CSPP), Head Start Programs, private and public early learning and care providers, and additional partners, as part of a statewide preschool through third grade initiative.
A countywide cross-sector committee from the Sacramento UPK Collaborative developed a vision statement launched in 2022 with its origins in the Sacramento Early Learning Roadmap 2017-22.
Sacramento County supports the right of ALL children to have joyful, rich, and equitable early learning experiences (preschool through third grade) with educators that embrace each child’s unique strengths and needs.
